You guys have probably gotten this letter in the mail recently, but if you didn't, let me inform you of the new BULLSHIT rules starting this school year at Ben Davis.
Of course, the dress code is going to hell. We're all going to be dressing like elementary school omish kids, but that's not what's really bothering me. It's this nice little section that's pissing me off:
Hair/Facial Jewelry
Student's hair color and style or facial jewelry should not interfere with the educational environment of the school or safety of each student. Only approved dental work is permitted such as braces or retainers. Grills are not allowed.
So, they're not allowing facial piercings or "weird" hair colors.
I swear to God, if the fucking principal walks up to me and tells me to take out my lip ring, I'm going to tell him he can freaking pay for it. It costed me $30 to get my lip pierced and if they've got a problem with it, then they can give me the money back.
This is so fucking retarded. How am I interfering with the "safety of each student"?? If I want to dye my hair pink and wear my lip ring, it has NOTHING to do with the yuppie walking next to me.
And if they're excuse is that it's "distracting" the students, well if you're really SO easily distracted that someone with a piercing is going to stop you from doing your work, then you should be on a pill to fix your ADD. Why should I be punished because you can't focus? |
